Long run in the early morning. It was chilli but not too bad. Pace was quite good for this one mostly because I incorporated a bit faster pace in the middle 4 miles.

Went to Duke tracks for speed work. Did a workout which is called Yasso 800s. Warmed up half a mile and then did 8 time 800 meters with 600 meter active recovery inbetween. The 800 splits were 3:37, 3:32, 3:33, 3:33, 3:33, 3:25, 3:27, 3:26. If the theory behind Yasso 800s is correct, this workout predicts I can run a 3:30 marathon (provided I put down the mileage and training).

Tempo run at the tracks. 1M warm up at 8:06 and then 4 miles at 7:00, 6:57, 6:53, 6:49 and 1M cool down at 8:20. It was humid and I was very happy to be able to maintain this pace and run negative splits.
